Recently a girl in the Sr. high youth group that I help lead sent me a text message explaining to me how her friend showed her some videos that love146.org had. This girl constantly sees the posts of news and links that I put up on my facebook and asked how she can help. She wanted to do the Car Wash Across America in which Love146 promoted to spread awareness and tell the story of Love146 and what they do.
It was August when the car washes were supposed to end, but Love146 was excited to hear that we wanted to do one in September. We planned for the 12th but it rained badly that day. The following day the sun was shining and with lots of great help from some of the jr. and sr. high youth group (about 15-20 of them), two of the parents, one other youth leader, my husband (who went on the errand runs to get us more sponges and pick up pizza for the kids to eat), and I all worked hard.
The promoting that occured was through inviting everyone we knew through facebook (probably over 500 people were informed about it), the two girls who were inspired to do this made fliers that they posted everywhere in their neighborhood pretty much every day before school started for them. I made an announcement at church one week, they made an announcement the following day. The church posted it on their board that faces a busy street (in which the following day we tried to fix the date and times)!

The two high school sophomores that made most of this event possible with their hard work and efforts. Here they are sporting their love146 shirts.
One of the few signs that were held out to bring cars in from off the street

A jr. high girl working hard

The dirtiest car that arrived. They informed us that they had pulled into another car wash at a school fundraiser and were told their car would be too much work, so they came to us! The kids were super excited to clean their car.
With the help of one of the parents, this is how clean we got the car!
Jr. high boys so eager to help out. They had a great time

more hard work. We had two cleaning stations and the most we had at once were 5 cars wanting to be washed. I talked to each car (well the people in each car) about human trafficking and told them what Love146 does to help children out of sexual exploitation. (i'm not pictured in any of these shots).

I informed them that they could offer whatever price they wanted.
Total price raised: $584!!!!
