Scavenger Hunt 2010

Many of you may recall that I have mentioned being a youth leader at my church. We did a Scavenger Hunt two years ago which I had posted here (sorry the entry was deleted. . I used to delete entries often) and had another one a couple weeks ago.  I thought I'd share a few with you.

If you are wondering what in the world a Scavenger Hunt is, basically we are given lists of things to do. There are points for each thing, which all have to be photographed. My group won last time, but this year they didn't choose winners or add up points. It was really fun though. I had the smallest group and had a great time with them.

Running with Scissors on a track (and yes, I now have brown hair)

They had to feed each other gummi worms mama-bird style

They had to be under a bed (this is one of their sister's bed.)
We had to have a thought bubble saying something funny. This says "I think I'm laying in poo!"
We had to lose at arm wrestling a stranger (she was a little freaked out).

Although I took tons of other shots of the girls doing a bunch of things (these are pretty much the only ones with me in the shots), I thought I'd share some of the other groups' photos from what they did.

Drinking out of straws from a bird bath
New home owners

and another group climbing a fence
They had to have one person in a batting cage.

Another group creating a work of art with sidewalk chalk
having a tea party with stuffed animals and dolls
And another group . . .the youth pastor with a brother of one of his team mates. . they had to take a photo shaking hands with a pirate
Hitchhiking to the North Pole

[outfit entry coming soon]

Aw, I loved this post! Before me and my husband got married and moved away, we were also both youth leaders for high school kids. That's actually how we met! These pictures make me miss the girls I used to lead in my small group and is seriously making me miss having a home church!

i like the fact that you all had a nice time, but i wouldn't drink from a bird bath because of diseases and i wouldn't run with scissors. Despite that i like that young people have something to do and have fun*

Haha. they weren't really drinking it at all. and I was posed with the scissors, I didn't really run! I made it dramatic. . .it was really very slow-mo running.

Scavenger hunts are so fun! I have to say though, drinking out of a bird bath is pretty disgusting.

That looks like so much fun!

You have brown hair now? I just had my hair cut AND colored dark last Tuesday! I don't have pictures up on my blog yet though. My hair is REALLY short. My mom visited me this week to take me to the salon because she thought I needed a makeover... thanks, mom! It was because my roots were showing, and she missed me having short hair.

BTW very reassuring to hear you mention post deletions: I've been getting shot of many old posts recently and was feeling a bit unsure about that :)
