Movies & Music Suggestion Post #15

Movies are rated on a scale of 1-5 stars. Anything over 3 stars is very worth it and is in bold.

I watch a love of movies. . .

To Sir, With Love 1966 (w/ Sidney Poitier, Judy Geeson, Lulu --more recent version of her singing the song she sings in the movie) - 3.25 stars - A teacher comes to a school in which he doesn't really want to teach at. He realizes all his students are a bunch of misfits. He decides that the working class London kids need to learn how to be respectful, so he starts to treat them more of equals. Will he be able to help them? This was a great film. I really enjoyed it, but Mr. Poitier was always a great actor. Plus it helps that Rob is obsessed with the UK working class from the mod years ( < ---a screen shot from the film of the style I mean), since he dresses like them.

My Best Friend Is a Vampire 1988 (w/ Robert Sean Leonard, Rene Auberjonois) - 3 stars - I actually really liked this one other than one scene of a vampire in one of the opening scenes who is all sensual and in her lingerie. Aside from that there was language in it I didn't think was necessary. A teen boy gets bit by a vampire and ends up getting mentored by an older vampire on how he can live without feeding on humans and enjoy his life. His best friend doesn't like the idea at first but thinks he is pretty awesome after that.  There also is a little tale of teen romance blossoming.

Sex and the Single Girl 1964 (w/ Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Henry Fonda, Lauren Bacall) - 2 stars - In order to get an interview with a reknown psychologist who wrote a book (Sex and the Single Girl), a journalist takes marital problems from a couple he knows and uses it to get close to the psychologist. Of course this creates quite a lot of drama. I think the most hilarious scene in this is to see Henry Fonda and Lauren Bacall (the couple with marital problems) attempt to dance together in the early 60s style even though they would have done much better doing probably swing or so. It was atrocious. The film however was just too odd for me. I couldn't really get into it at all.

Laura 1944 (w/ Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews, Vincent Price) - 2.75 stars - A bit of a mystery movie with suspicion, murder, and a problem of everyone falling in love with Laura. It was only good because Vincent Price rules but he was a minor character. Gene Tierney always has great clothes in films.

Picnic at Hanging Rock 1975 (w/ Rachel Roberts, Vivean Gray) - 2 stars - This movie was so odd. The fashion was beautiful, but the story is so unsatisfactory and a little boring at times.  It was about how school girls went to an outing to celebrate Valentine's Day and a teacher and three students end up missing. It was a beautifully filmed movie though.

Young Victoria 2009 (w/ Emily Blunt, Rupert Friend) - 3 stars - I've always loved Queen Victoria. . .probably because I heard she was a good queen and because we share the same name. This was a very good story that was pretty clean all about how Queen Victoria came to reign as Queen and how her relationship developed with her husband.  It wasn't that long and it was sweet.  It was almost completely accurate too compared to a lot of movies I see based on history.  There was only one thing they exaggerated that I saw.

The Flight of the Phoenix 1965 (w/ James Stewart - the fav!, Richard Attenborough, Peter Finch, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine) - 3.25 stars - Very powerful and scary story about a bunch of men who crash out in the Sahara Desert. A pilot tries desperately to build a single engine plane out of the larger plane so that they don't all die. Very interesting to see how they deal with the situation. I now found out someone remade this film (WHY!?!? classics should just be replayed in theatres!)

A Summer Place 1959 (w/ Sandra Dee, Troy Donohue) - 2.25 stars - This was really depressing. Characters in this have affairs, get pregnant out of wedlock, have alcohol problems, and are control freaks that abuse physically and emotionally. While watching it I just felt sad the whole time. There wasn't much happiness to it. I still want all of Sandra Dee's clothes whenever I see any of her films.

Karate Kid II 1986 (w/ Pat Morita, Ralph Macchio) - 3 stars - I used to favour this Karate Kid when I was younger. Now I don't as much. I like the first one better now. I do a lot of things from this film that I forgot I did until I saw it and said, "oh yeah, that's where I got it from". It was good, but it was just another sad movie and had a lot of controlling family members. Plus In the background I saw human trafficking. . that upset me, because you wouldn't have noticed one bit unless you were me, since I'm crazy.

Tammy Tell Me True 1961 - (w/ Sandra Dee, John Gavin) - 3.25 stars - always my favourite of the Tammy movies. I love this. It is so cute. An innocent river rat of a girl who is so sweet she makes you wish you were her. She enters college and ends up falling in love and helping many people, while being confident in who she is, even though she is often mocked for being the girl she is. I used to relate to it when I was a young teen.

Tammy and the Doctor 1963 - (w/ Sandra Dee, Peter Fonda) - 3 stars - Tammy falls in love with a doctor as she attempts to become a nurse and ends up causing chaos instead. Not as good as other Tammy films. I love Sandra Dee's nurse's outfit though. Adorable.

Broken Arrow 1950 (w/ James Stewart (my fav), Jeff Chandler) - 2.75 stars - I have seen this movie so many times in parts but never all the way through. It was nice to finally be able to see it all in order! Basically it is about a white man who wants peace between the Apache tribe and the white men. In the process he falls in love with an Apache. Sad movie though. sweet too.

A Little Romance 1979 (w/ Diane Lane, Laurence Olivier, Thelonious Bernard) - 3 stars - I thought this was a sweet film. Diane Lane was a kid in this and was so adorable! I loved her clothes. She goes to France with her actress mother and meets a young French boy who is obsessed with films. When their feelings blossom for one another, and drama occurs when her parents get involved, the two run away to Italy with an old pick-pocketer (Mr. Olivier!) who helps them out. There is some language in it, but aside from that it was cute.

Amelia 2009 (w/ Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston) - 3 stars - there was some language in it. This tells of the flying life of Amelia Earhart, and lets us sorta see what she would have been like if we were to meet the woman who kept many feeling amazed during the Great Depression.  It was a beautiful film, and focused mainly on her marriage and love of flying quite a bit. I wasn't completely awed, but it was a nice movie.

Leave Her To Heaven 1945 (w/ Gene Tierney, Cornel Wilde) - 3 stars - A story about a jealous wife. Simply put. . .which leads to many occurances that are tragic. I remember seeing the last half of this as a child and not remembering the title or who was in it, Finally I know. It makes me fume and did when I saw it as a kid too. You'll want to smack Gene Tierney's character a lot if you see it. great clothes and hairstyles though!

Arsenic and Old Lace 1944 (w/ Cary Grant, Priscilla Lane) - 3.25 stars - Another funny one with Cary Grant. A man gets married and visits his old aunts before going on his honeymoon. They have been poisoning men (literally) and burying them in their basement, his uncle thinks he is Theodore Rosevelt, and he also has a crazy murdering brother. He fears for his wife's future and his own and lots of fun things occur because of it.

Music I've listened to lately:
been on a bit of a music fast. I really only listened to She & Him vol. 1 & 2  because Rob's been putting it on in the house. More music next week instead.

I'll leave you with this video though, because it has been more of what I've been paying attention to instead of music.

Sewing Projects

Going back to July/August . . I bought two 40s patterns, one for a dress, and one for a petticoat.  I have sewn before, but mainly reconstructing old T-Shirts Rob had, and otherwise I hardly touched my sewing machine that I got for Christmas in '99 because of all the dreams I had in my sleep quite often of making beautiful clothes and having my own shop. Of course, I didn't have Home Ec class available and I never knew how to begin, so the sewing machine basically sat there for years (the first thing I sewed was a pleated skirt when I was 20, but still it sat a lot since).

Today, I finished my petticoat. My Mother-In-Law had guided me about how to do the darts and put the pieces together (I did the cutting on my own & sewing), and she put the zipper on for me. It was very helpful, and I had decided to experiment to see if I could figure out how to finish it all up. Not only was I successful, but it fits and looks good too! I am really proud to have accomplished this. I really don't know anything about sewing but think I am a fast learner.

I chose to do the pattern of the dress worn by the drawn girl in the blue petticoat, but I didn't really want the lace on it, and if I want, I'll add that later. I just wanted a plain petticoat to wear under my longer and more see through 40s dresses, since I have a shorter half slip and shorter full slip that I wear under my other dresses/skirts.

This is just as long in length as it is pictured in the pattern, but it doesn't really look it by this shot of the petticoat. I also chose cotton instead of satin or something, since I didn't want to waste money on fabric if I messed up (but I didn't mess up, this time).
This is a 60s guide book on sewing that I tried to use to help me through the process (thanks to my mother-in-law for finding it at a book sale and giving it to me). I love the add on the back of the magazine haha.

So what now, you ask?

My next project is to do shorts!
This is a 40s shorts pattern and I really really hate shorts (my scrawny legs do look a little odd in shorts at times to me, so I try to avoid anything that shows the knees upwards), but think they are adorable. I would want to try the plaid shorts (maybe not use plaid though, because all that lining plaid up might be too much for me as a beginner) and then in time I would want to do the one that is in white, using a different colour (I get white things too dirty because I love playing in mud and dirt - ask my husband, he's seen it in action - this is why I had two sons! haha).
When I do the dress afterwards, I want to do the one on the left and yes, in plaid. I have an addiction to plaid and gingham. I plan on making more than one dress using this pattern if I get used to sewing well enough.

Lovely Pink Dress + Brigitte Bardot Hair Tutorial

My hair was poofier in the video, but I let the wind blow my
hair around in the car and then these photos were taken.
This beautiful dress was purchased from Sally Jane Vintage
I really don't like pink, or wearing it, but this dress just looked really lovely to me.
I actually wanted to go out on the rocks but with heels I didn't risk it

A sort-of tutorial video
It is based off of Brigitte Bardot's hairstyles.

MOD outfit!

A while ago I posted pictures of a shirt I got from Throbackvintage on etsy. I also received this lovely mod dress!!! Make sure you check out her shop. She is super friendly!!

Rob is in love with this dress, but he is big big big on 60s mod fashion from the UK, as mentioned before. As for myself, I have always liked some of the mod fashions since I was a kid (because everyone always called me twiggy because I was disgustingly skinny & took weight gainers because it looked really sickly) but short skirts aren't my thing at alllll (due to all the stick figure jokes I got probably - which is why I never wore skirts until I was 16, but in general it isn't my thing)!!!  I like knee length and longer, mainly because it just feels comfortable and is more modest. I truly felt naked walking outside in this. I wore shorts under the dress because I felt so naked. I don't know how in the world my mom wore shorter skirts than this back in high school during the mod years.  It is a gorgeous dress though. A guy that works with Rob saw me "hiding" when I went to pick him up with the boys and said, "what's with the school girl dress?" and Rob said, "It is more of a mod thing!!" haha.

. . .of course I added a touch of 40s riveter hair to it. haha.
I was being a nut, running in place.
These are the oldest shoes I've owned. My Dr. Martens are maybe 6 years old now, but I had a pair before that in which my dog chewed up, and I loved that pair more, as they were slightly different. Granted I had a pair of doc marten 8-eye boots that lasted me 8 years too. I miss them.

Swingin' Sailor Violinist

Call it my fascination with pirates since early childhood, my 15 years of fandom for Sailor Moon and Japenese school uniforms, or the whole nautical thing in general; I have always loved these types of things.
I've been looking for vintage 40s sailor outfits for a long time, but can never find them.

Therefore I found someone who sews them on etsy: Jitterbuggin
She is super sweet and very communicative and talented!
I didn't take enough pictures at all of the back, but there are two red stars, one on each side.
no, I didn't cut my hair. I gave myself faux short hair (it's a good trick)
and no I haven't played violin since I was nearly 9, but I'd love to pick it back up!

and I also have another similar dress that I'll be posting pictures of soon as well.

The truth about strip clubs & prostutition: They're slaves.

I try not to do overflow of human trafficking posts because they are depressing (and not many people actually read these, but those who do I know appreciate these posts), but at the same time people need to know that slavery is right in their backyard.  I live in Northern NJ.  On Saturday Rob and I were in south Jersey for a birthday party for one of  my uncles.  While driving around, Rob and I were both thinking the same things.  There were so many buildings boarded up everywhere. There were young girls walking around, and there were porn shops all around. Right at the end of Central Jersey before we were about to go on a straight-a-way highway where there would be no buildings at all, there is a giant strip club with loads of large signs to get men to stop there fast before they enter all that roadway. The place is called "The Gentlemen's Club". I snickered at the name. Real gentlemen don't go to such places where they continually degrade women.

Keep in mind, there is a strip club right in the town I live in. In fact there are 70 strip clubs in my state alone (probably more, but I know of 70, yes 70).  I live right near NYC there are even more to add to that number.  What people don't realize is that 90% of women in strip clubs are there out of human trafficking means. That means that most of the women there were kidnapped, coerced, threatened, drugged, beaten, and basically told that they have to display themselves this way OR ELSE. And out of fear they do it. Most of them are from other countries smuggled in pretty easily. Oh and to make matters worse, most of them are under the age of 18 but are made all up to look over 18 (This same thing happens in pornography).

Another thing, where there are motels, there are often porn shops. Where there are porn shops and motels, there are commonly known areas where people are forced into sexual slavery.  Casinos also are big areas where prostitution and strip clubs are. This is why in NJ by Altantic City, there are more strip clubs around than most other towns in my state.  Why else does Nevada allow prositution as acceptable where we all know Las Vegas is loaded with those two things? When we shrug these things off, we forget about all the thousands of victims that are in our country at those locations (and other locations nearby that are less noticable for where slavery would occur).  We aren't doing enough to stop these things unless we spread the news around.

Today I read a news article. A crime family was arrested in NYC. What did they do? Well they were recruiting young teens into prostitution throughout areas of NYC and NJ.  They forced them to do this at clubs and at casinos.  "The charges included racketeering, murder, sex trafficking, sex trafficking of a minor, jury tampering, extortion, assault, narcotics trafficking, wire fraud, loansharking and illegal gambling. The extortion victims were beaten, sometimes with baseball bats." This is what is going on in our world. This is what is happening in my own state. We can't just turn our heads away and let it happen. People who are being forced into such awful things are right nearby!

It makes me want to get into protesting outside of strip clubs. I don't know how to get intot hat and how to get loads of people around, but I think people need to know that the women in strip clubs aren't the ones we should be calling names at all. Granted we shouldn't name call. But signs like, "Strippers are victims/slaves" or "Most Strippers are brought in illegally against their own wills through kidnappings and coercions, threatened to be killed, or their families be killed." or something smaller like that.  Most of the men going to these places sadly have no clue what the girls go through and if they do and still go, it is truly awful to me that they can be able to add to those pains those women are already enduring.  I want to know how to go about protesting so that I don't have angry mobs trying to kill me in the process. I am willing to stand up for those who can't speak up for themselves.  Justice must be served. Slavery must end.

Blossoms of Life

I know that lately you've mainly seen me wear 1940s & 1950s dresses, but since I was 7,
I dressed like I was from the 1960s & 1970s, but I didn't know where to find 40s dresses, even though I watched the movies from that decade and drooled over it all.

This dress I got from Sally Jane Vintage on Etsy (the shop has a big sale right now!), which is a vintage 60s dress. I was in shock when I saw it because when I was 16 I had a (mainly) pink and green dress that looked exactly like it. I don't remember what I did with it but I wore it once a week to school and with similar shoes pictured below (but my dog at the time chewed the straps of the shoes apart). I also did my hair the same way and my hair was the same length at 16. . .of course here I am 10 years later.  I get rid of things easily as I am not very sentimental with possessions (I used to be), honestly (stuff is meaningless compared to the relationships you make).  I don't keep things too long before I in turn sell them. I do have very few things I've had for ten+ years.

"But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business." -James 1:10 & 11

We are truly ultimately blessed in this life where we live. We are the rich and our beauty and things will be gone in no time. This is why it is better to have a love and adoration for something that lasts after our physical and material selves disapear. My hope is in the Lord for this reason, and this is why I don't hold on to things unless it is God's Grace.

Movies & Music Suggestion Post #14

Movies are rated on a scale of 1-5 stars. Anything over 3 stars is very worth it and is in bold.

Ponyo 2008 (w/ voices of Noah Cyrus, Tina Fey, Liam Neeson) - 4 stars - So gorgeously done! It was a great story too. I really enjoyed seeing this studio ghibli film and so did my husband and sons. It was adorable about a little fish who has the ability to transform into a girl, and about the boy that helps her.

Snowball Express 1972 (w/ Dean Jones, Nancy Olson) - 2.75 stars - I love family Disney films, Dean Jones of course did many of them.  This was about a family who inherits a ski resort hotel but it is so beat up when they get there. Other things occur after that which makes for a fun film.

Monkeys Go Home 1967 (w/ Dean Jones, Yvette Mimieux) - 3 stars - a man inherits land and needs workers. He gets some chimps to help him out with it, and cares very much for them. Of course being in France, he is told that they don't like the Monkeys and want them to go home.  It also it a love story intertwined and is very cute.

Cats 1998 (w/ Elaine Paige, John Mills) - 3 stars - I live pretty close to Broadway (20 mins) and have only seen one production (Riverdance!), but Cats was HUGE. I remember the commercial for it so well. They showed it all the time for years.  The music in this is really great. The dancing is adorable.  My problem with it is that the setting was boring. ONE setting just strains my eyes. It started to get a little slow at times with the story because of that.  For years I wanted to see this, and now that I saw it through DVD, I was a little disappointed.  I love that I finally did get to see it though, since it is no longer on Broadway.  Another thing that irked me is that in the commercial all these little kids talked up a storm about how great it is, and I knew lots and lots of kids who went ot see it. There is a part where a male cat slides his hands downwards over a female cat's breasts slowly. They are in their little skin tight outfits, but this just was something they could have left out.

Alice in Wonderland 2010 (w/ Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Mia Wasikowska) - 3.5 stars - Rob was so disappointed in this because he read the books - which this is hardly like the book other than the characters, says he. I liked that this was more like a sequel to everything, since Alice is older than the age she was in the books.  I thought it was very creative. The costumes were amazing and I loved how beautiful and artistic everything was. I don't think it is too younger kid friendly though in case you want your kids to see it. I'd say wait until they are about 8. There is eye stabbing and things like that.  The art really is spectacular! This has a bit of a love story intertwined in it too. A girl who believes she's had bad dreams her whole life ends up finding out that maybe her dreams are real. Does she have the courage to face circumstances or will she run away from it all and allow others to choose for her?

The Monster Squad 1987 (w/ Tom Noonan, Stan Shaw) - 3 stars - I wish the language was MUCH less in this movie. It breaks my heart to see that these underaged kids were told to use so many bad words for the film. I enjoy this movie aside from this factor, to see how a bunch of boys love monsters, but the little sister is the cutest of course!! I love how they used classic looks from old films for the mosters in this. Oh you gotta love 80s movies.

The Three Faces of Eve 1957 (w/ Joanne Woodward) - 3 stars - This is really a great film about a woman who has multiple personalities.  It is really good. One of the personalities doesn't even show up until later in the film. I probably should have rated it higher even, but oh well. It has its slow moments. The outfits are great in this too.

Once Upon A Mattress 2004 (w/ Carol Burnett, Tracey Ulman, Zooey Deschanel) - 2.5 stars - Tracey Ulman is hilarious and a great singer. Carol Burnett's singing always surprises me, because sometimes she is awful to me but in this she excells with such range.  The story is about a kingdom where the queen tries to get her son to marry, but every princess fails a test presented for them (basically she doesn't want him to marry). No one in the kingdom is allowed to marry until her son marries, which makes it difficult for some people such as Zooey Deschanel's character who gets pregnant and wants to run away because of her shame. Anyway so Tracey Ulman's character is a princess who comes in and stirs things up.
Father's Little Dividend 1951 (w/Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Bennett) - 2.75 stars - A little boring but it was cute. it is the sequel to the original Father of the Bride so this one is about their son that they have and how the now grandfather deals with it.

Come September 1961 (w/ Rock Hudson, Bobby Darin, Sandra Dee, Gina Lollobrigida) - 3 stars - This is about a man who goes to his villa every September.  Turns out the place was transformed into a hotel without him realizing it by his associate. I laughed a lot with a few scenes, especially one with a jeep and Bobby Darin's friends. Rock Hudson was actually pretty handsome, tis a shame he didn't have a thing for the ladies and died young from AIDS. :( I love the clothing in this too (Sandra Dee was always so adorable, yey for NJ girls). It is really a beautiful Italian location film. Bobby Darin does sing in this, in case you were wondering. Rock Hudson tries to be all fatherly to the younger girls in this and that was kinda cute.  He can't dance at all even though he tries to. Gina Lollobrigida is so classy in this film too. It just is one of those really great early 60s films! cute love stories intwined.

The Blind Side 2009 (w/ Sandra Bullock, Quinton Aaron, Tim McGraw) - 3.5 stars - A Christian family that is rich and lives in a community filled with rich white folks end up bringing a big black boy into their home and love him as their own son.  Based off of the true story. This was lovely indeed. My only problem I had is that there was no need for the little bit of language they put into it or the husband acting like a pig telling Michael he'll be "having fun" as they scope out the females on a college campus. Otherwise this is really sweet and touching. I used to cry every time I saw the trailer (about 5 or 6 times) and I didn't cry while watching it, but I did tear up at parts.  It makes me happy to see families who are willing to do the right thing rather than being concerned about how others will view them.  We need more people like them.

Music I've been listening to:
Morning Benders - Big Echo album (week two) - favourite track: "Excuses", "All Day Day Light"
Miik Snow - Self Titled album (week two) - favourite track: "Animal", "Sylvia"
Yeasayer - All Hour Cymbals album - favourite track: "Sunrise"
Orange County Supertones - Supertones Strike Back album - favourite track: "So Great A Salvation", "Little Man", "Louder Than The Mob"
The Avett Brothers - I and Love and You album - Favourite track: "Kick Drum Heart", "It Goes On and On", "I and Love and You"
Broken Bells - Self Titled album - favourite track: "The High Road"
The Enemy - Music For the People album - Favourite Track: "Sing When You're In Love", "Last Goodbye"
Chris Murray - Yard Sale album - Favourite Track: "Better to Know", "Shades of the Same Color"

The Avett Brothers' "I and Love and You"
I have been an Avett Brothers fan for about 4 years now and just really adore their music. This is from their newest album which has been out for a while, but I listen to all their stuff pretty regularly. Their harmonies always are so lovely.

Broken Bells'  "The High Road" This song and the lyrics are really depressing but it keeps getting stuck in my head. This band is really only the drummer and the singer/guitarist but they have musicians that played on this with them and all.

OC Supertones' "Little Man" - I think I love this song because Rob plays it so often on bass that it gets in my head randomly sometimes

My Sons on Easter & Thoughts I've Been Having

I got a "Princess Award" this week, which was sweet but unfortunately I don't like passing on awards because I feel terrible choosing people.  I feel badly not filling out the survey it included. Maybe eventually I will do it. I feel odd doing these things, but am touched that I was awarded.

I forgot to post pictures of my sons from Easter!

Lately I've been really upset with how I see other "Christians" treat people.  They are so hateful and cruel to people. Something that I think a lot of Christians forget is that they are not better than anyone.  I am just as guilty of sin as the murderers and rapists, etc. . .because we ALL fall short of the Glory of Christ. We are all guilty. Some people's sin is more visible to see and more shocking to others, but what we forget is that even those people need Jesus as much as we do. Everyone needs love and is looking for it. Showing hatred is not being Christ-like one bit.  A lot of the times I feel like Christians who act this way are like the Pharisees that Jesus rebuked often in the Bible. They were so into themselves and were so puffed up because they knew the laws forwards and backwards, that people were being hurt through their great knowledge. In 1 Corinthians 8:1 it states "Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up." I know a lot about the Bible, but I don't want to ever be puffed up because it makes you unloving and feel so much pride and value in yourself that it becomes a bit like idolizing yourself rather than glorifying Jesus.

Leto was puckering and I don't know why

The beautiful thing is that Jesus came to live with us so that we can say, "wow, God came to live amongst us as a testimony of true perfection!" and then He suffered a very gruesome death when He was guilty of nothing, because as God in human form, He had no sin.  We all put Him on the cross because of our sins. Because He died and then conquered death with hundreds of witnesses to see, return from death, and then ascend into Heaven, we need to be able to live up to His great testimony. It is not supposed to be easy at all. We are going to suffer because of the sin in the world. The love of Christ is what heals. The hatred and pride shown to others will destroy. This is why so many people hate Christians. They see what they do and say and they don't want that. What they don't realize is that we also are filled with sin and that is why faith has to be put into Christ rather than into those people who proclaim to be Jesus followers, but don't live Him or who mess up because they are filled with sin as well. Only Christ is completely good.  That is why we ALL need Him, so we can continually fight our sins and help others.

Micah. . .He's been climbing everything lately so I have to constantly
pay attention to him so he doesn't fall or something!

Blue & Green Equally!

My two favourite colours ever is blue and green (don't know when I like more, and I have tried to decide and can't). This dress is therefore one of my favourites (and it is Rob's favourite of mine) that I own.

Vintage dress from the late 50s/early 60s from Metroretrovintage on etsy.com

I want to thank you guys for commenting a lot more lately. It makes me smile to get feedback and know what people are thinking, even if it is negative.  I have been noticing people are starting to link me from their blogs. That's really nice! If you do so, could you just call the blog link "Justice Pirate"? I'd appreciate it! Thanks again. Maybe I should start linking off some of my favourite blogs too! I just don't like leaving people out and hurting people's feelings without meaning to, so that is why I haven't done so. Just know if I have commented on your blog, I love it!
